Two photos of Disneyland’s Matterhorn shot from the same perspective in the Hub, one from 1980 and the other taken 32 years later in 2012.
Where did all the trash cans go?

It’s 1958, and after just catching a show at the Mickey Mouse Club Theater, you wander over to this Fantasyland Souvenir Booth to do some shopping.
But low and behold, a green trash can attracts your eye! How many can you spot in this photo?

![It’s not often that a trash can blends into the setting better than a park bench, but that sure seems the case here in Frontierland!

Guests dining outside the Plantation House Restaurant enjoyed some great chicken dinners… as well as company with a pretty swell-looking brown trash can!

The E.P. Ripley sits out front of Main Street Station in this 1955 Disneyland photo. However, right below in the tunnel is a peculiar round trash can with a lid that is ajar. It even looks like the plastic liner is exposed as well.
My, how the “show” for trash cans at Disney has changed over the years!

![It’s funny what memories can be triggered by seeing “Waste Please.” Magical Trash reader Adam writes, “Your website reminded me that during a trip to Disneyland with my father, we finished off a roll of film with me sarcastically posing in front of a trash can.”
It may have seemed like a waste of film then, but it’s surely a work of art now. Thanks Adam!

We sail into black & white Fantasyland and weigh anchor next to a wonderful trash can!
Take a look at the detail… aside from the “Waste Paper” messaging, there are icons showing a broom and dustpan on the logo shield. The word “PUSH” is backed by a ribbon design on the inlet flap, tying into the medieval theme quite well. And there you have Guests hanging out next to it, just because this refuse container is so awesome.
Now that’s a Magical Trash can!
